LEAP 2010 – A Year of Dance

MERSEYSIDE DANCE INITIATIVE & MERSEYSIDE DANCE PROMOTERS NETWORK PRESENT LEAP 2010 – A YEAR OF DANCE

For 2010, LEAP will expand its normal March festival into a year long programme of dance with the launch of the new Merseyside Dance Promoters Network (MDPN) set-up to maximise dance opportunities across the Merseyside area during 2010 and beyond. LEAP 2010 will officially launch at the Liverpool Empire on Mon 22nd February.

A thrilling mix of top National and International dance companies are programmed into the region’s theatres across the year from Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake at the Liverpool Empire Theatre (22nd – 27thFeb), to returning artist Mei-Yin Ng (23rd Feb) and also National Dance Company Wales (19-20 Mar) and Wayne McGregor’s Random Dance (28-29 May) .  MDI are working with Culture Liverpool to animate the city centre with dance, including events such as the International Day of Dance on 29th April and City Steps 12th and 13th June.
