ST HELENS THEATRE ROYAL IN MARCH 2011

At the Theatre Royal this month – Aquablakk, The Drifters, The Salon and a whole lot more!

Spring has finally reached us, and following a record breaking Christmas Season with Snow White, the Theatre Royal is thawing out nicely with a number of exciting shows programmed into the theatre over the coming months.

March brings with it a plethora of fantastic performances, hilarious comedy moments, old favourites and musical blasts from the past.  The ultimate smooth operators The Drifters step out onto the theatre’s stage on Sat 19 March to perform their classic hits. Speaking of classics, the 60’s will swing back into the theatre on March 13 as The Overtures bring their ‘groovy’ show Bootleg Sixties to the theatre.  If new music is more your thing, then give the Aquablakk Roadshow a try when it bounces into the theatre on 6 March, the show will be filmed by Channel 4!

Drew Quayle’s wildly popular and absolutely hilarious play The Salon gets a follow-up appointment from Thu 31 Mar – Sat 9 April. Originally produced by Regal Entertainments for St Helens Theatre Royal in summer 2009, the Salon was so successful that it ran at Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre for 4 weeks in October 2009. Now, it’s back; backcombed, buffed, polished and bigger and better than ever before starring Juice Fm’s Leanne Campbell as Carol. Make sure you get your tickets fast, before their whipped up quicker than a wax strip in an intimate area!

Looking forward to Easter, the Theatre Royal continues its tradition of eggstra special Easter Pantomimes with Peter Pan, directed by Theatre Royal Manager Chantelle Nolan, who has directed the theatre’s Easter Pantomime for the last 6 years. Bring your Lost Boys & Tigerlilys along for an exciting afternoon at the theatre and let your dreams take flight as Regal Entertainments bring J M Barrie’s classic tale of the mischievous boy who never grew up to life, starring Radio City’s Claire Simonsen as Tinkerbell.

These shows are just a number of the fantastic spring offering from the St Helens Theatre Royal, all March performances are detailed below.  With plenty of the new shows constantly being added to 2011’s Theatre timetable, be sure to check out http://sthelenstheatreroyal.com for updates.
